Invoice Factoring For Business Growth

Auto Date Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Is cash a little bit tight? Have you ever risked missing payroll? Have you ever had to pass up an opportunity because you did not have enough money? If so, you are not alone. Every business owner goes through those same challenges every day. Some come out on top. Others perish.

What is the biggest difference between those that succeed and those that perish? Cash flow. And plenty of it.

If you work with commercial or government clients, then you are already used to waiting up to 60 days to get paid by your clients. That is ok if your business has lots of resources and a stash of cash in the bank. But what if you don’t?

One of the most frustrating things that can happen to a business owner is realizing that his company is invoice rich and cash poor. Meaning, you have tons of money owed to you by clients (and payable in 60 days) but little cash to show for it. This does nothing for you, if you need to meet payroll in 3 days or need money to buy supplies for a new project. Fortunately, there is an easy way to turn those invoices into cash, without using any collections or heavy-handed tactics.

The solution involves factoring your invoices. Never heard of invoice factoring? You are not alone. Factoring is one of the most used and least talked about business financing tools. It allows you to convert your invoices into immediate cash. It helps you turn your invoice rich business into a cash rich business.

Qualifying for factoring is simple and only takes a few days. As opposed to business loans, you don’t need a long business history or reams of financial statements to qualify. All you need are invoices for credit worthy commercial clients or government clients.

And how does factoring work? Well, it simpler than you think. As soon as you have completed a job, you submit an invoice to your client and send a copy to the factoring company. The factoring company will advance you a substantial portion of your invoice, usually within a day. Once your client pays the invoice, the transaction is settled.

As you can see, factoring provides you with immediate cash as soon as you invoice. This helps you meet payroll, pay suppliers and take on new jobs. With factoring, you can streamline your billing cycle and grow your company, without ever needing a business loan.

Are You At Risk Of Wasting Your Life Away Without A Goal?

Auto Date Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Boy, I did learn a valuable lesson when I did not put up a plan for my online business. I have no goals, no plan of action. I was wasting 2-3 years of my time! Now I have learnt the importance of goal setting because it sets the path for me.

When it comes to goal setting just how many people out there are really willing to set some goals for themselves to go by and live by anymore? There are probable not as many as you think there would be. This may be because there are more people that are going to live life as it comes to them. There is nothing wrong with that but you may want to still think of setting a couple of goals that could help you out in the future with your job or family situation.

If you think about it when you set goals you are going to be able to better your life in the long run. With setting realistic goals you will soon see that the goals that you did set will be achieved with ease if you just put your mind to it and stick to the goal that you want to achieve. You and your family may even notice a change in how you feel about yourself when you are working towards a goal that you set for yourself. You could be more focused on what you are doing so that you are moving a little closer to reaching your goal in life. That will not only make you feel better but it will also prove to your boss and you family that you are ready to take on anything that they may throw at you.

If you notice that you have a little more self-esteem than what you started out with you are defiantly going to feel better about everything that you are going to be doing in your life. You could even notice that you are going to be offered a job promotion because of the way that you are representing your self in the company that you are working for. You are going to feel better about yourself because of the goal setting you have done in the past. It is going to be all because of you working hard and proving to people that you are going to reach any and all of the goals that you have set.

In conclusion, goal setting is important and you should have a yearly goal setting activity done. Remember that without a goal, there is no plan. When there is no plan, nothing is done.

Goal setting is important for your personal development and you can see how devastating it can be. Learn more about goal-setting for FREE at:

The Tao of Leadership

Auto Date Sunday, April 20th, 2008

There can be no doubt that the ancient author of the Tao Te Ching, Lao-Tzu, was a man of unique wisdom whose writings continue to influence people of different backgrounds and faiths.

Many leaders then and now get wrapped up in selfish ambition. They would do well to listen to what Lao-Tzu had to say on the subject of leadership.

There are several English translations of the Tao Te Ching available on-line. The following selections are from a translation by C. Ganson.

Leaders Work Humbly

Leaders should not seek power or status;
people will not then crave power or status.
If scarce goods are not valued highly,
people will have no need to steal them.
If there is nothing available to arouse passion,
people will remain content and satisfied.

The truly wise do lead
by instilling humility and open-mindedness,
by providing for fair livelihoods,
by discouraging personal ambition,
by strengthening the bone-structure of the people.

The wise avoid evil and radical reform;
thus the foolish do not obstruct them.
They work serenely, with inner quiet.

In my involvement in scouting, I have certainly observed humble leadership. Although some of us enjoy getting up in front of people and receiving occasional recognition for our efforts, there are many more people who prefer simply to stay in the background. Without such people, most scout units would not survive.

Unfortunately, humbleness is perhaps a little less common in the business world. Corporate managers should definitely take notice.

Also, I think it is good advice for leaders to avoid radical reform. This is especially true in an organization where the leadership tends to change fairly quickly. This is certainly true in Cub Scouts where the leadership tends to change whenever a new set of boys graduate into Boy Scouts and their parents move on too.

When new leaders take over, it is tempting to want to make radical changes to try to rectify past problems. However, this may create unexpected tension with other leaders who may not share the vision of the new people.

I have seen this situation in scouting and in my corporate experience as well. A new manager who immediately begins making changes before having established a raport with his/her employees will not garner a lot of respect.

The Best Leader

The best leaders, the people do not notice.
The next best, the people honor and praise.
The next, the people fear;
and the next, the people hate.

If you have no faith,
people will have no faith in you,
and you must resort to oaths.

When the best leader’s work is done
the people say: “We did it ourselves!”

Good leaders don’t try to do it all themselves. They delegate. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to get enough people who are willing to take on responsibilities of a leadership position, especially in volunteer organizations.

However, it is much easier to get people to agree to help with small things. There are many people who are willing to help, but just don’t want a long term committment. Official leaders should not overlook the contribution that such people can make.

Furthermore, good leaders don’t try to take all the credit. Imagine if a scout leader took all the credit for everything their boy scouts or girl scouts did. It would be unthinkable! Although we may guide and assist them along in their activities and achievements, we want them to always proudly proclaim “We did it ourselves!”

So, why do some managers seem to want to take all the credit in the business world? Employees who have a strong sense of accomplishment will certainly be happier and more productive. As a result, the organization will thrive and so will the manager.

Don’t Be a Complainer

Auto Date Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Complaining. There’s room for legitimate complaining, but if you let this deadly disease of attitude - complaining - loose, it will conquer you. Complaining can take over your life. Destroy you and leave you without anything.

Nobody wants to take along a complainer. Nobody wants to promote a complainer. Nobody wants to live with one. Nobody wants to be a partner of one. Nobody wants to have one around.

Complaining leaves you out of more opportunities than you can possibly imagine if you let it take over and grab you by the throat. If you don’t think complaining is bad ask the children of Israel of Old Testament fame. Now let me say something right here, they are typical of us all (if we had ourselves in a similar position); their story just happened to get in the Book.

The story says that the children of Israel are slaves in Egypt. God performed a series of dazzling miracles and gets them out. Now they have their freedom and are heading for the Promised Land. But… the tragedy of the story - they never got there. Reason - from day one they started to complain.

They griped about the food - they had just been delivered from slavery and they are complaining about the food?! They complained and cried and griped about the water. In the desert they HAD water to drink, but… it didn’t taste that good?! They complained about the leadership… that had just delivered them from slavery?! They complained that it was too hot, too cold, too far, too difficult, too rocky. They cried for years - forty to be exact. Finally, God said I’ve had it - trip cancelled!

The story says that they died in the desert and never reached the Promised Land - after all that trouble! I believe this story teaches two things:

1) Indulge in complaining long enough and you will get your future cancelled - future promotions, future opportunities.

2) Even God himself can only take so much complaining.

I think you get my point. Complaining is not for the winners in life. You must focus on what you can do, not what you cannot. And you must focus on the opportunities not the difficulties. When you do this you will not only inspire yourself but you will be an example for others to follow as well.

To Your Success,
