Auto Date Friday, July 10th, 2009

The opening of One Priory Square is being seen as an attempt to bring back business to the office spaces at Hastings. Local business leaders have welcomed the opening of the new office complex, expecting increased revenues for the local businesses.

Chief Executive of Ten Sixty Six Enterprise Ham Marley however sounded doubtful - he said that the recession might affect the opening of the office complex adversely as it would be hard to fill the office spaces. Looking at the brighter side he also said that since the office design had been considered carefully and pricing of the new spaces was reasonable, the spaces were certainly attractive to consider office relocation here and might be rented out much faster than expected.

Alan Canon, who heads the AM Commercial Ltd, was of the view that the area would fill up fast when the economy picked up as the business location was very central in Hastings.

The opening of the property was a grand affair with three concerts and over 200 guests. The guests present at the opening were able to admire the beauty of Hastings and its vicinity by looking from the sixth floor of One Priory Square.

One Priory Square actually refers to the place of intersection of Havelock Road and Priory Street. The new construction offers office space of about 44,000 square feet spread over six floors.

Although it was developed by the Coastal Land LLP, it was actually a joint venture between Land Group and Sea Space.
